Artist's Bio

I first began my particular style of drawing while living in Santa Cruz, California in the early 1990s.   Many of my first “Art” pieces were doodles of hallways and corridors in college notebooks and scrap books.  Eventually I started doing full page illustrations, using single point (and later two and three point) perspective drawing.  This became a part time hobby which I have continued ever since then.

After moving to Boise in the mid-1990s, I steadily produced more work to refine and develop my style.  During this time, I pursued a career in technical graphics, achieving an associate’s degree from Boise State University and ultimately, a career in the computer aided drafting and engineering graphics field.  However, I continued with my artistic hobby on the side, producing more and more unique pen-and-ink drawings to build my portfolio.  Finally, I got my first ever show at Piazza DiVino in downtown Boise in 2006.  In 2011, I became a regular at the semi-annual Art in the Bar event held at the Knitting Factory in downtown Boise, appearing in that show at least six times between 2011 and 2016.

I have been featured at the Meridian Fine Arts Festival, Art in the Park, and the Wintry Market in the Boise area, and have had my artwork featured at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, the Meridian Library, the Garden City Library, the Riverside Hotel, the Meridian City Hall, and the Treasure Chest Gallery at the Gem Center for the Arts.

In 2019, I joined the Boise Open Studios collective Organization, as a way to network with other artists and to share both my work and my process of creating it with the public.  I have hosted numerous open studio events since then.  Along the way, I have been fortunate to meet many creative and talented people who all support each other’s artistic endeavors.
